The queen of pears, variety discovered in France by the homonymous Abate Fetel in the mid – 1800s and today Italy is the largest producer in the world.
The precious variety is mainly producer in Emilia and mature in mid – September.Fruits have elongated flask – large size, with a nice smooth and thin rind of rusty yellow. The juicy flesh, fine white, has a sweet – sour taste and is extremely fragrant and pleasant.
